Monday, Jan 14, 2008 Macworld 2008 first 2 days

Hey guys and gals~~~ I m writing from San Francisco again. :P My 2nd visit in 6 months. This really sounds a bit too frequent.

Anyway, I m in the Macworld 08 wandering around the expo floors. I enjoy it a lot though there’s not much excitement. Let me briefly summaries my past 2 days…

Well, my day time schedule’s been pretty standard – walking around the show floors. There are basically 2 floors. I’ve mainly visited larger ISV and big brands.

My first impression is not that positive actually. Without rigorous math calculation, there should be about 50% ( of the booths doing ipod/iphone accessories, 25% are peripherals or traditional accessories (mouse, keyboard, mounting kit, storage) and only about 20% are really software related (5% others). You can spot a few large indies like Plasq, Omnigroup, Smileonmymac, marketplace… It’s not too much a fanfare to me hanging out in those booths cause their products are so popular and the demo is always downloadable from the internet.

Hehe… but the expo is not just about the day time events. Parties and meetups after the expo are the real highlight. I met lots of new people and developers I met before.

I m spending time on small indies and small booths today. It should be a great fun. :P Will update u guys when I get back to the apartment.
