Saturday, Sep 05, 2009 SEO is actually very simple
Here’s a page by a local bank serving as my negative example on SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Personally, I am no SEO expert. (If you need professional SEO advice, you can go for expert help) But SEO can actually be extremely simple.
Looking at the sample site….
There are mainly 2 problems:
- <title> – The title is just not related to the context to the page.
- Image text – all important information are presented as image files.
Check out the image below.
The browser title is just the banks’s name. It’s not related to anything about the promotion. Well… page title is very important to indexing your page in search engines (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo…).
About the image text, I just feel weird why they can’t make them real text. I mean, I understand the font part. But is it something that takes higher priority in this age? Well, that’s debatable. I think bosses and managers need to make the choice for their own contents.
